Mountain and Tourism States Lead

Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Maine, Utah and Colorado are all in the top 10. Many of these states have big seasonal industries like ski resorts, national parks, fishing and summer tourism, so seasonal work is a normal part of the job market. California is the only large state near the top.

Where Seasonal Searches Are Lowest

Interest is lowest in West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, South Carolina and Hawaii. In these states, fewer job seekers think “seasonal” when they search, so seasonal ads may need different words.

What “Near Me” Tells You

“Near me” searches are growing the fastest. Job seekers want work close to home, so where your client is located matters as much as what the job pays.

What This Means for Agencies

  • In high-interest states, post early and move fast. Candidates are searching, and so are other employers.
  • In low-interest states, change the words. Try “temporary”, “holiday” or “through January” instead of “seasonal”.
  • Put the city in the job title. “Near me” searches are rising fastest.
  • Small states rank high, but the pools are small. In big states, target by city instead.
  • Mention housing or travel help in remote areas. Alaska and Wyoming roles often need it.
