Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Support day-to-day execution for a subset of North America last-mile delivery stations and take ownership to quickly remove or alleviate capacity constraints.
- Develop 24-hour operations clocks which optimize the use of time while balancing competing objectives.
- Influence building design decisions through high-judgment evaluation of constraints and available solutions.
- Drive capacity alignment between capacity planning tools and dependent tools & systems.
- Write effective documents for diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Capacity Engineering team, helping others understand the space and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
- Actively drive progress across multiple efforts in parallel, independently managing priorities and relationships with other teams to effectively deliver results.
- Work in Last Mile transportation and logistics supporting the Amazon Stores business and package delivery.
- Model and create capacity plans for Last Mile delivery stations in the US and Canada.
- Develop methods to calculate and improve capacity for sortation and delivery processes.
- Use Microsoft Excel, SQL, and internal AI tools for analysis and planning.
- Interact frequently with the Station Capacity Management System (SCMS) to maintain capacity data for hundreds of Amazon buildings.
- Focus on capacity maximization through process innovation in vehicle loading and package flow.
- Support a new initiative to place Amazon inventory in Last Mile buildings closer to customers to improve delivery speed in the US and Canada.
