Applied Research Engineer/ScientistOur team is seeking Machine Learning Scientists and Engineers to help build AI-driven products at Apple. This role focuses on ML development and implementation, working closely with hardware, software, and design teams across the company. In this role, you will participate in the ML development lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams to bring innovative AI technologies into reality. You'll help design and implement ML models, work with ML tooling and infrastructure, support evaluation efforts, and implement model inference solutions. Key

Responsibilities

Implement ML models and infrastructure in partnership with designers, software/hardware engineers, and R&D teams

• Support data generation, curation, and evaluation efforts for ML systems

Help develop model inference solutions

Prototype AI solutions that solve real-world problems

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related technical field; or equivalent practical experience

Experience with prototyping in ML/AI contexts

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and multi-modal foundation models

Familiarity with AI systems capable of reasoning and task execution

Creativity and curiosity about applying AI capabilities to product experiences

Good collaborative skills and effective communication

Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
