Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Identification and qualification of Eco Options products, branding and integration of these products across the enterprise including marketing vehicles and vendor/merchant communications. Accountable for ensuring accurate communication to both internal partners and external consumers.
- Manages relationship with 3rd party certification companies to ensure alignment with the appropriate standards and removes process roadblocks when necessary. Creates and manages relationships with US Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star and WaterSense programs to stay abreast of national environmental initiatives.
- Manages supplier product audits to verify environmental attributes such as wood sourcing or chemical makeup as needed for compliance with The Home Depot environmental policies.
- Assists for various external/industry environmental reporting requirements.

Position Purpose:
The Environmental Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the Eco Options program. This includes developing and executing key programs to drive awareness of Eco Options and other internal and external environmental imperatives that continue Home Depot's leadership in the environmental arena.

- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a related industry with a focus on Environmental topics
- Proven ability to implement initiatives in a fast-paced retail environment
- Competence in project and process management, organization and strategic planning with the ability to execute a tactical plan, managing multiple projects at a time
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
