Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards
  • Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.)
  • Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs
  • Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Join Our Fleet Team!
To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.
Tool allowance included to support your trade.

Our Diesel Mechanics make between $35.25 - $39.25/hour depending on experience!

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
  • Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
  • Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.

Work environment includes:
  • Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $35.25 - $39.25 per hour.
This role will also receive overtime compensation and shift differential.
