Mechanical Engineer Pe, Facilities Designs

The purpose of this position is to perform research, provide analysis, design and document cost effective, code compliant mechanical systems for Publix facilities, and to supervise the work of mechanical engineers and designers supporting this function. Mechanical Engineering covers all aspects of HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, and refrigeration design. Responsibilities include

Signing and sealing Publix mechanical construction documents as the Mechanical Engineer of Record

Participating in the design and production of construction documents for new prototypes and site-specific projects to coordinate and develop store plans

Supervising Engineers and Designers participating in the design and review of prototypical Mechanical Engineering design

• Addressing mechanical engineering issues that arise in the permitting process providing clarification when needed
• Maintaining and/or improving the quality level and clarity of the mechanical drawings and specifications
• Developing economical reviews of Publix's mechanical system to ensure the systems provide the best possible economic benefit while reducing energy costs
• Reviewing plans submitted by external Mechanical Engineers for remodels and tenant buildouts
• Assisting in the review of mechanical documents for unique stores as submitted by contracted consulting firms

Required qualifications include

6 years' experience working as a Mechanical Engineer

Willingness to travel to onsite locations inclusive of overnight stays

Preferred qualifications include

4 years of Mechanical Engineer project management experience and 4 years' experience in retail grocery design

pay: 7,370

Maximum base

pay: 11,050

Potential annual pay with bonus: 95,810 - 143,650

Year end bonus: As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
