Senior Software Engineer - Labor Management Forecasting (Hybrid) | Publix Super Markets, Inc.

Become part of the Labor Management team, designing, building, and delivering a robust application that supports Publix business areas in managing labor activities such as forecasting, time attendance, and scheduling. In this role, you will be seen as the product champion leading the technical strategy, driving the delivery of a highly available, resilient, and scalable labor management application. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the technical team is meeting business goals.

Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL): To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact:
  • Design and deliver scalable applications, APIs, databases, and event-driven solutions using React, .NET, SQL, and Kafka.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, support, and enhance enterprise applications.
  • Lead technical delivery for multiple initiatives while ensuring adherence to development standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers to drive engineering excellence.
  • Participate in Agile planning, refinement, review, and retrospective activities.
  • Develop and optimize Kafka-based integrations and real-time data processing solutions.
  • Improve database performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kubernetes (K3), Docker, or other containerization technologies such as OpenShift
  • Experience planning, organizing, and managing projects and project teams
  • Experience or desire to work in event-based/micro-service style architecture
  • Experience with .NET 10
  • Experience with Kafka Connect and Kafka Smart Router

Frequency of Pay: Monthly
Minimum Base Pay: 8,835
Maximum Base Pay: 13,255
Potential Annual Pay with Bonus: 114,855 - 172,315
Year End Bonus: As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
