Full Job Description

Sanitation Operator, Overnight, Deli - Lakeland | Publix Super Markets, Inc.

This position involves sanitation duties in the Deli Kitchen at our Lakeland location. Responsibilities include:
  • Assembling and disassembling equipment
  • Dispensing and using chemicals safely
  • Cleaning all production equipment
  • Maintaining standard operating procedures at an exceptional level
  • Ensuring the prevention of damage when cleaning equipment, including electrical wiring and control panels
  • Applying various chemicals on different equipment as well as environmental locations
  • Operating and maintaining floor scrubbers
  • Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications include:
  • Being at least 18 years old
  • Demonstrating excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Demonstrating safe working habits
  • Being able to use industrial strength chemicals
  • Understanding and demonstrating all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
  • Being able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently
  • Being able to push or pull heavy equipment
  • Having basic mechanical skills
  • Using creative thinking for troubleshooting
  • Being able to work in a wet and slippery environment
  • Possessing general knowledge of machine operation
  • Being able to bend/stoop/squat down
  • Being able to learn and perform all positions
  • Being able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Having good human relations skills
  • Being able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Having excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Being willing to attend forklift, pallet jack, floor scrubber and high lift training

  • Being able to work efficiently with little or no supervision

Hours of work: 8:00pm to 4:30am, rotating days of the week.
Work environment: Wet and slippery with temperatures ranging from 34 degrees to 90+ degrees.
Pay: Weekly with a minimum base pay of $19.60 and a maximum base pay of $27.05. Potential annual base pay ranges from $40,768 to $56,264. There is a year-end bonus to reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year. Other compensation information includes a $2.00 per hour weekend differential and a $.75 per hour night differential.
