Be a part of the Publix Technology Settlement Team as a Software Engineer, where you will contribute to the design, development, and support of modern payments applications that enable settlement processing and enterprise scale financial reporting for all EFT transactions. In this role, you will build and enhance secure, scalable, and resilient applications while collaborating closely with product owners, business systems analysts, architecture, and enterprise technology teams.
You will be responsible for implementing new features, improving existing system functionality, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring seamless end-to-end performance across the payments ecosystem. As a key contributor to the product lifecycle, you will participate in backlog refinement, write user stories, provide technical input into requirements, and support technology modernization efforts across the platform. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Effective communication and collaboration with management, peers, technology partners, and business stakeholders are essential.
We are looking for someone with hands-on software engineering experience, especially in designing, building, and supporting application components within modern architectures. Experience with Agile development practices, enterprise logging and reporting technologies, database design, and payment processing systems will greatly enhance success in this role.

Your Impact
Provide technical expertise on the technical solutions within the product portfolio
Perform industry research and make recommendations regarding technical enhancements, new features, technology, and infrastructure to continuously improve technical solutions within the product portfolio
Ability to provide 24/7 after-hours support in an on-call rotation as needed
Participate with technical teams through problem determination and resolution on complex problems
Work closely with IT management on project and resource planning, including effort estimation
Perform development, debugging, and technical support for technical solutions within the product portfolio
Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience

• years of experience in analyzing complex business problems or processes and translating business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership

- years of advanced Microsoft SQL Server experience in enterprise environments
- Experience with development of TSQL queries and design of stored procedures, triggers, views, UDFs, indexing and table partitioning strategies, and Common Table Expressions (CTEs)
Advanced knowledge of .NET and C# software engineering languages used in the product portfolio
Proficiency in software development best practices related to security, scalability, availability, and performance
Experience in technical planning and estimating projects

Year End BonusAs a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
