Pest Control Technician Class B - Boynton

Monitoring non-retail areas (distribution, manufacturing, and office) in order to eliminate insects, rodents, or unwanted wildlife.

Required Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years old.
• Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Have a valid drivers license and obtain authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position).
• Be able to obtain a Limited Structural Pest Control License in Florida within one year of his or her start date in the position.
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to move a minimum of 200 pounds.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Be able to bend, climb, stoop, and twist.
• Be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system.
• Be able to use chemicals and equipment that require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Be able to read labels, write reports, calibrate chemicals, and solve math problems.
• Be able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions.
• Successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position):
  • Basic Office Skills
  • Following Written Instructions
• Have the ability to work well with others and be a team member.
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
• Show a commitment to Publix's mission.
• Be able to obtain medical clearance to wear respiratory protection (an air purifying respirator) within 2 weeks of accepting the contingent job offer (requires maintaining facial hair in a manner ensuring the respirator fits properly).
