Position SummaryThe Direct-to-Patient Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the delivery of medical products directly to patients. This role ensures efficient routing, timely transportation, accurate record keeping, and clear communication between drivers, healthcare providers, and patients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRouting Optimization
Develop and adjust daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
Use routing software and GPS systems to optimize delivery schedules.
Monitor traffic, weather, and service disruptions to proactively reroute drivers as needed.
Analyze route performance to improve delivery time and cost efficiency.
Logistics & Transportation
Coordinate transportation of medical supplies and equipment directly to patients' homes.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare and transportation regulations.
Assign deliveries to drivers based on location, priority, and capacity.
Track shipments in real time to ensure on-time delivery and service quality.
Record Keeping (Routing)
Maintain accurate dispatch logs, route schedules, and delivery confirmations.
Document changes to routes, delays, and service issues.
Ensure proper documentation for compliance, billing, and reporting purposes.
Generate daily and weekly routing and performance reports.
Coordination
Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers, healthcare providers, and customer service teams.
Schedule urgent or same-day deliveries as required.
Resolve logistical challenges quickly and efficiently.
Support continuous process improvements in dispatch operations.
Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during delivery routes.
Communicate delivery updates, delays, or changes to patients and internal teams.
Provide clear instructions and problem-solving support to field staff.
Maintain professional and compassionate communication with patients.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
13 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or healthcare operations.
Proficiency with routing software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.50 - 23.00 and will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
