Job Description:
The Technical Analyst will evaluate and document alternate parts opportunity and alternative repair options for aircraft consumables, expendable and components. Alternative parts will be through the Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA), Owner Produced Parts (OPP) and Designated Engineering Representative (DER) processes. Individual will work within the Procurement Groups and work closely with Aircraft Engineering and industry suppliers to identify stand-alone and/or Next Higher Assembly (NHA) components for alternative parts/DER opportunities. Once identified, individual will establish the support package/documents for internal engineering approval.
The Technical Analyst supports the many technical needs of various groups. This includes but is not limited to Aircraft Engineering, Airline Procurement, Airline Provisioning, Material Asset Management, and others. Alternative Parts (PMA) candidates are identified and logged, then scrutinized for airline suitability. Specific model eligibility, interchangeability, usage, price, availability, lead time, reliability, and other data will be documented as part of the approval submittal. If approved, the PMA package is then followed to ensure proper application and implementation as well as cost savings documentation. Additional Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and NHA parts are identified and then targeted for PMA development. Owner produced and DER development is also considered. The PMA analyst has ongoing interaction with established (and potential) PMA, OPP & DER suppliers. Excellent record keeping and attention to detail is required.
Additionally, this position occasionally requires the support of the surplus sales warehouse operations, including stocking inventory, pulling and staging parts, packaging materials, and preparing orders for shipment. The successful candidate must be able to safely work in a warehouse environment, traverse ladders, and frequently walk, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout storage areas. The position also requires the ability to lift and carry packages and materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with a team lift.
Formal training in a relevant aviation field and aerospace industry experience. Degree preferred. Must understand the effects of material support on the maintenance organization. Candidate must possess a technical, statistical, and analytical aptitude to interpret OEM Drawings, IPCs, AMM, MELs, E/Os, etc.
Ability to work in a regulated environment with minimal supervision. Must have great attention to detail and prioritization skills. Must be able to clearly communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to interact and work with Administrative, Business Professionals and Management on a daily basis. Able to make quick decisions and adjust plans under operational pressure. Team player with proven leadership skills.
