Wi-Fi Tools and Automation Engineer, Wireless Technologies & Ecosystems

The Wi-Fi Quality Engineering team is seeking a mid level quality engineer to work on systems and processes that will test every software change of the Wi-Fi stack. The Wi-Fi Quality Engineering CI team consists of automation engineers, tools developers and UI engineers who contribute by improving the quality of the Wi-Fi user experience. This team creates automation that runs on every class of Apple device, builds internal tools that help validate new technologies and works on user facing features that ship in our products. You will work with both development and testing teams to improve testability through code design and writing automation that runs on a large scale.

Responsibilities

• Ideal candidates are specialists in automation testing, automating UI components, unit testing, and non-UI automation testing
• Experience in app development for macOS or iOS is a benefit
• Develop and operate a large-scale test automation lab for multiple Apple products
• Write automation for new and existing features to validate Wi-Fi
• Debug and trouble-shoot device hardware and software failures
• Execute, analyze, report and debug issues as part of software testing execution cycles
• Work with industry standard tools to create micro-services, tools and pipelines to support our continuous integration effort
• Work with engineering teams to drive testability efforts to improve the way we test our software and hardware

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working in Software QA Automation Engineering
• You have experience in one or more Scripting/Programming Languages including Swift/SwiftUI, Objective C or Python
• You have experience in automating tests at Unit, API, UI, non-UI level
• You have experience with Continuous Integration systems
• You have the ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems and independently work towards results
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple
• You have experience with AI and problem solving

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $123,700 and $218,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
