As a Reliability Engineer for the Wireless Design group, you will be responsible for driving all reliability requirements across multiple Wireless vendors.
You will apply your expertise to review all reliability test plans and audit the reliability tests at the vendor labs. This role will also include leading failure analysis, root cause understanding of the failure and analyzing field exposure risk in the event of a failure.
DescriptionReview all vendor REL test plans during product life cycle. Ensure that silicon/package qualification test requirements are met across all wireless vendors. Audit domestic and international vendor sites on a periodic basis. In the event of a reliability failure, drive failure analysis at vendor. Assess field risks through statistical analysis of reliability failure rate. Position requires domestic and international travel.
ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary technical liaison between internal cross-functional teams and reliability teams at vendors, ensuring alignment on reliability campaigns, determining stress test conditions and approving test hardware.
Analyze reliability campaigns results, perform risks analysis and determine next steps.
Communicate component reliability risks to the internal teams.
Minimum QualificationsBS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time.
Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred QualificationsPhD is highly desirable for this role.
Experience defining reliability tests, executing reliability tests and assessing reliability performance.
Expertise in auditing vendor sites for REL tests.
Ability to drive vendors for DOE/FA.
In-depth knowledge in performing risk assessment.
Solid understanding of industry test Standards (JEDEC, IEEE).
Experience working in a fast-paced engineering environment utilizing real time crisis management skills.
Strong analytical and communication skills are required.
Experience in Consumer Electronics.
Individual needs to be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess the ability to clearly articulate issues.
Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
