Camera Framework Engineer - Photo Capture

The seamless integration of software and hardware has led to features like Night Mode, Live Photos, Apple ProRAW, Portrait Mode, and many others, which deliver magical experiences that surprise and delight our customers. The Camera Frameworks team in Software Engineering is at the heart of the camera stack and provides the APIs and real-time multithreaded media pipeline powering clients like iOS's built-in Camera application and thousands of third-party applications. As a Photo Capture engineer, you'll work side-by-side with the world-class engineers that built the iPhone camera system to what it is today, developing and extending our concurrent real-time capture and processing pipeline and building new great camera capabilities spanning the universe of Apple devices. Description
If you consider yourself an engaging and highly collaborative engineer with excellent communication skills, and are comfortable in a dynamic environment, we feel we have a rewarding opportunity for you. We are looking for a strong software engineer to help implement and extend the real-time camera capture pipeline powering our devices. Understanding of real-time systems behavior, concurrent processing, and performance- and memory-sensitive environments as well as API design and maintenance is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of software development experience. Proficiency in Objective-C or C/C++. Development and debugging experience on realtime embedded mobile platforms. Passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways.
Preferred Qualifications
BS or a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience. Ownership of API design and maintenance. Focus on details that are meaningful to customers. Experience with realtime media frameworks. Interest and fundamental understanding of photography.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $126,800 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
