The Apple Watch team is looking for a qualified engineer who can quickly come up to speed and contribute to the development process in a significant way. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to help us ensure that our iOS and watchOS releases continue to be stable, reliable, and bug-free. As a member of our fast-paced group, you will work with groundbreaking technology while enhancing our testing capabilities for new features. You will have a unique and rewarding opportunity to help plan and shape upcoming products that will delight and inspire millions of Apple's customers every day.

Responsibilities
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Swift, and Bash.
  • Experience with Git and codebase management.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing, etc).
  • Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including experience in finding, investigating, and fixing bugs.
  • Experience with developing test strategies, including writing test plans, test cases, custom tools, and testing architectures.
  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.
  • Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
  • An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products.
  • Experience developing UI automation, preferably in Apple frameworks such as XCTest.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
