Software Engineer, Creativity Apps

On the Creativity Apps team, you'll work on foundational technologies and user experiences that power applications used by artists, designers, musicians, and innovators worldwide. You'll contribute to the legacy of world-class creative applications like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Pixelmator, and Photomator.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable UIs.
  • Architect secure, high-performing features.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across Apple to integrate with existing frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain system health and quality.
  • Continuously improve system performance, developer experience, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of industry experience building applications or frameworks on iOS, Mac, or other Apple platform.
  • 5+ years of experience developing in Swift, and at least one of AppKit, UIKit, and/or SwiftUI.
  • Familiarity with essential development tools such as Xcode, git, lldb, and Instruments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized within a collaborative cross-functional team.
  • Committed to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area; or, we may consider equivalent industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with creative photography or media editing tools.
  • Familiarity with Apple's core media frameworks such as PhotoKit, Core Graphics, Core Image, and AVFoundation.
  • Prior experience with system design, data flow architecture, and performance analysis / troubleshooting.

Pay & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
