Headphones And Accessories Tools & Automation Engineer
Join our Sensing and Connectivity team and drive innovation that matters. We craft and seamlessly integrate technologies that enrich people's lives and deliver the best user experience. The Headphones and Accessories Quality Engineering team is looking for a motivated Tools & Automation Engineer to design, implement, test and maintain next generation audio and connectivity solutions. You're creating and delivering world changing experiences on the very latest Apple products.

Build creative solutions for testing current and next generation products. Drive quality and champion bug fixes, working closely with the dev team and analyze the root causes for the issues. Design comprehensive test plans for new features, factoring in technical details and the customer experience. Develop test automation scripts using Python, maintain reports of all automation issues and test results. Collaborate with cross functional teams to get requirements and implement automation feature requests. Bring up, perform regular maintenance and debugging of test setups and scripts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering or AI/ML.
  • Expertise in audio testing, software testing, isolating issues, devising test plans, aiming to specification.
  • You're proficient in a coding language (Python, Java, Objective C, C++, etc).
  • You have 1-2 years experience working in a similar field.
  • You're experienced deploying testing at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
  • You have a foundational understanding of electronics and wireless technologies.
  • You have the capacity to dive deep technically, learn new technologies, and understand the technical details of an accessory or product system.
  • You have the ability to analyze and distill meaningful insight from large data and make quantitative assessments.
  • You have the ability to efficiently articulate key points or risks to non-technical audiences.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are effective at building relationships to collaborate and influence projects.
  • You're obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to pursue everyday problems in innovative ways.
  • You have an understanding and educational background in AI/ML.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $203,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
