Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Innovate and pioneer cutting-edge technologies that redefine how we experience and consume media
- Design and develop media processing software frameworks and SDKs for Apple Vision Pro and new AR/VR products
- Optimize media processing pipelines by minimizing utilization of critical hardware resources (GPU, CPU, memory, etc.)
- Analyze software issues, and develop fixes for software anomalies
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, algorithms and UX) to create groundbreaking technologies and systems
- Present results clearly and discuss design and implementation effectively

Senior Media Software Engineer
Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with your physical space. The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a senior Media Software Engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of spatial media. This team works on key technologies and frameworks that enable spatial media experiences on Vision Pro and future AR/VR products. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience with software development
- Experience with image and video processing, media processing pipelines
- Excellent programming skills and proficient with one of the programming languages: C/C++, Objective-C, and Swift
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- A strong focus on end user experience
- Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving, and a drive to build products that surprise and delight.
