• Apple Maps and EcosystemApple Maps is looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Maps Client Analytics Engineer to join our team. This role sits at the exciting intersection of cutting-edge client technology and data-driven insights, where you will design and build the robust analytics infrastructure that enables us to understand user behavior and inform the evolution of exceptional visual experiences across Maps and other Apple ecosystems such as Find My. Your work will directly impact how millions of users experience maps, driving continuous improvement through deep understanding of client-side data.

In this individual contributor role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the client-side analytics frameworks that power our understanding of user interaction within Apple Maps.

You will enable the transformation of raw data into actionable insights, collaborating closely with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to identify key metrics, track performance, and uncover opportunities for innovation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust client-side analytics instrumentation and data pipelines for Apple Maps features using Objective-C and Swift.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to define critical metrics and analytics requirements that inform product strategy and development.
  • Develop tools and processes for effective data collection, validation, and reporting, ensuring data quality and integrity.

Champion privacy-preserving analytics techniques and ensure compliance with Apple's stringent privacy standards.

  • Contribute to a collaborative, user-centered culture that prioritizes both technical excellence and creative empowerment.
  • Apply a deep understanding of core computer science concepts to orchestrate robust and scalable client-side analytics solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    5

  • years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on analytics, frameworks, and/or client-side applications.
  • 5

  • years of experience with Objective-C and Swift.
  • Deep understanding of iOS and macOS application architecture and development best practices.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing client-side analytics and telemetry systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with user needs and product goals.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with large-scale data analytics platforms and tools.

    Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimentation frameworks.

    Background in data science, geospatial data, mapping applications, or location-based services.

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python for automation and tooling around analytics pipelines.

    Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
