Imagine what you could do here! The people here at Apple don't just create products; they build the kind of wonder that's revolutionized entire industries. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. At Apple, inclusion is a shared responsibility, and we work together to foster a culture where everyone belongs and is inspired to do their best work.

Here on the Apple Store Online team, we are responsible for Apple's largest store. Our main goal is to deliver a magical, personal digital experience where customers can shop, buy, and learn everything Apple, wherever they are. Each customer should feel like they are our only customer, and our job is to set the bar for the experience they receive. To run such an extraordinary store, it takes extraordinary people, and we are looking for someone to help us do extraordinary things.

Apple Store Online is redefining what shopping means in an era where AI agents increasingly act on behalf of shoppers. This role sits at the center of that shift. The Experience Strategist for Agent-to-Agent Commerce will define how Apple Store Online's agent ecosystem should feel, behave, and collaborate to serve the shopper. This is the ultimate 0 to 1 role in an exciting, rapidly-changing space. We are looking for someone with strategic vision, deep AI literacy, and the operational rigor to take ambiguous futures and turn them into cross-functional initiatives that ship. You are as comfortable running a program and clearing blockers as you are shaping the vision, and you are energized by getting things done in a space that's still being defined.

This role drives the experience strategy for Apple Store Online's emerging agent-to-agent commerce ecosystem and defines how autonomous agents connect to serve shoppers across the full purchase journey. You will translate a fast-moving, technically complex landscape into a clear, shopper-first strategic point of view, then shepherd that vision through organizational alignment and into execution.

Responsibilities
  • Solve one of the hardest open problems in agentic commerce: what it means to represent the shopper when the shopper is AI.
  • Map the agent landscape for Apple Store Online and identify which agents matter to the shopper, how they negotiate and hand off, and what experience principles should govern their behavior.
  • Evaluate whether shopper needs are best served by a unified agent orchestration layer, a constellation of specialized single-use agents, or something in between, and define the experience implications of each model.
  • Define what preference, trust, intent, and advocacy look like when the entity navigating Apple Store Online is an agent acting on someone's behalf and establish the experience standards that ensure the human is still protected, understood, and served.
  • Develop a vision/strategy supported by lo-fi experience maps, shopper journeys, and strategic briefs that make a multi-agent future tangible to executive, engineering, and marketing audiences.
  • Author and present strategies, briefs, and other artifacts that translate emerging agentic AI capabilities into clear, shopper-first opportunities.
  • Program-manage agent experience initiatives to ensure the voice of the shopper is represented throughout the work, whether that shopper is a human or agent.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and Marcom to ensure experience strategy stays coherent as it moves across disciplines and into execution.
  • Conduct research on market & competitor trends and analyze consumer behavior and internal performance to drive optimization, expansion, and business case development.
  • Establish a baseline performance standard for agent-to-agent and autonomous commerce experiences.
  • Track progress, identify blockers, and maintain execution velocity across workstreams.
  • Commit to fostering an inclusive environment and actively contributing to a culture where diverse perspectives are sought out and valued.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in experience strategy, retail innovation, service design, or an adjacent discipline within digital commerce, shopper experience, marketplaces, or fintech.
  • Deep literacy in AI and agent-based systems coupled with the ability to read technical design documents, assess constraints, and translate implications into experience strategy.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous, future-facing ideas through organizational alignment.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, both verbally and using Keynote.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating at the frontier of emerging technology in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment where the work is still being defined.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail innovation across consumer-facing platforms at scale.
  • Familiarity with emerging A2A protocols, multi-agent orchestration patterns, or LLM-based commerce tools.
  • Demonstrated interest in the long-range future of shopping, retail, and autonomous commerce.
  • Experience working at or with an agentic platform on commerce-facing products, at a commerce platform building agent-to-agent infrastructure, or at a retailer creating strategy for agentic shopping experiences.
  • MBA, MFA, MS, or other advanced degree in Applied AI, Design Strategy, Service Design, Systems Thinking, Behavioral Economics, HCI, Strategic Foresight, Retail Management, or a related field is a plus.
