Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Define and own the product vision and roadmap NoSQL databases and streaming data systems built within the Apple Cloud.
  • Translate foundational data and AI infrastructure into clear product abstractions (APIs, workflows, templates, services).
  • Lead the development of applied AI and GenAI features, including intelligent assistants, reasoning workflows, automation, and decision support for database use cases.
  • Partner with engineering teams to align product requirements with platform architecture, scalability, reliability, privacy, and security constraints.
  • Work closely with internal customer teams to understand real-world application needs and co-develop solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive prioritization across competing demands from multiple products and organizations while maintaining platform consistency.
  • Measure success through adoption, developer productivity, reliability, and customer impact.

Senior Product Manager Databases

We are building the next generation of applied data and AI platforms that power Apple's most critical services, ranging from Music, TV+, Sports, and Search to emerging AI and GenAI-driven experiences. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead database services for Apple Cloud. This role focuses on managing strategy, product features and roadmap for NoSQL database and streaming data services, and GenAI-enabled workflows that teams within Apple can use to build faster, safer, and more scalable applications. This is a highly technical, cross-functional role working at the intersection of streaming, databases, AI/GenAI systems, and product abstraction.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of product management experience building enterprise or platform products.
  • Strong experience working with streaming data systems like Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, Search platforms like Solr and OpenSearch, NoSQL databases such as Apache Cassandra, and distributed caches like Valkey.
  • Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to launch, including vision setting, roadmap ownership, and execution.
  • Working knowledge of modern data and AI stacks, and cloud-based data platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of database and streaming concepts such as ingestion pipelines, transformations, storage, replication and SQL processing.
  • Experience building or productizing AI/ML or GenAI-powered features.
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to reason about tradeoffs across performance, cost, reliability, and usability.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces and shaping direction where requirements are not fully defined.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $203,300 and $365,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
