Senior Software Engineer - Data

We are actively seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Engineer to join our team for data processing infrastructure and pipeline development. This role will be instrumental in supporting data-driven R&D across a diverse range of core products and technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a demonstrated history of success in designing and developing robust, scalable, and efficient processing pipelines for multimodal data, including image, video, text, audio, sensor data, metadata, etc.

Responsibilities

• Establish and optimize a comprehensive data processing, validation, and curation workflow.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient infrastructure and pipeline to process multimodal data.
• Design and execute data processing operations to run data processing, monitor its progress, and facilitate efficiency improvement throughout data ingestion and processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement a scalable framework and pipeline to extract, clean, transform, and standardize the multimodal data and metadata generated from a wide range of sources to make the data trustworthy, discoverable, and accessible.
• Develop and drive the feedback loop between data consumers and data generation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or an equivalent engineering field, and 6+ years of industry experience architecting and developing scalable and reliable software, pipeline and platforms for data processing, validation, analytics and curation on the multimodal data (including image, video, text, audio, sensor data, etc.)
• Experience with Python and SQL
• Experience with data pipeline, modeling, database and query tools, like Dagster, PostgreSQL, MangoDB, Trino or equivalent.
• Experience with building and scaling systems on premise and in the cloud

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
