Bakery Associate
Responsible for garnishing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and merchandising bakery products. Cleans the work area as required. Cleans and sanitizes bakery, bakery equipment, and bakery utensils. Re-stocks supplies and ingredients as needed. Provides a high level of member service.

Job duties include:

• Moving product filled oven racks
• Un-tray products from baking pans into packaging
• Garnish baked goods according to item requirements
• Seal and label bags and containers of baked goods according to merchandise manual
• Re-stock baking supplies and industrial-sized containers of ingredients
• Scale finished product and record weight 4 times on each item packaged on verification sheets
• Use racks or carts to move or stock wrapped products onto tables and pallets
• Maintain date rotation and merchandising presentation throughout the day
• Clean and sanitize the bakery area including bakery cooler and freezer
• Sweep, mop, spray, wash, apply cleaning agents, wipe, operate pressure washer and operate walk-behind scrubber
• Clean and re-fill mop bucket and clean mop head as needed
• Dismantle bakery equipment, wash, rinse and sanitize removable parts in commercial dishwasher or by hand in three compartment sinks
• Wash bakery containers, pans, and utensils using commercial dishwasher
• Wipe down stationary parts with a cleaning agent, water, and sanitizing agent
• Follow SSOP guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position
• Log sanitation procedures performed on daily reports and comply with health code
• Follow safety and security procedures and read labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products
• Collect cardboard and trash; operate trash compactor, cardboard baler
• Take the laundry to the laundry service pick-up area
• Perform weekly cleaning duties
• Assist with other bakery duties as needed
• Provide prompt and courteous member service
• Complete and comply with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety training required by warehouse and department
• Maintain current product knowledge of bakery items
• Complete training, acknowledge standards and sign annually
• Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
• Assist with department duties as necessary
• Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
