Licensed Remote Pharmacy Technician (Texas Only)

Pharmacy TechnicianIn this remote position, you'll work independently while collaborating virtually as part of a supportive pharmacy operations team. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and accuracy will directly support patients' access to care. As a licensed Pharmacy Technician, you'll keep things moving by handling high-volume customer inquiries, resolving third-party rejections, completing accurate data entry, and managing patient registration. You'll use pharmacy systems to obtain, verify, and maintain patient and medication information, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless service in every interaction. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow standard operating procedures consistently, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment where responsibilities may vary by department. All duties are performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, and company policies. Remote position: candidates must reside in the designated state of hire and hold an active Pharmacy Technician license (state-specific requirement).
Job Responsibilities
Using Walgreens prescription data entry procedures and guidelines, processes new patient registration by entering data into appropriate system. Handles patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enters refill orders for processing. Troubleshoots to obtain missing prescription information, and interprets medical abbreviations (SIG codes). Resolves all data entry related exceptions.
- Handles correspondence to patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and makes outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed.
Resolves Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Makes telephone calls to insurers and others to obtain information, gain override approval or otherwise resolve the Third Party Rejects.
