About the Role

Your ImpactAs a General Maintenance / Facilities Maintenance team member, you are essential to keeping our large-scale warehouse operations running safely and efficiently. You are responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the building and its equipment, including performing preventative maintenance, handling general repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting), and ensuring a safe work environment that complies with all safety guidelines. This role requires a safety-conscious, motivated, and self-starting individual.

What You'll Do (Core Responsibilities)

Your primary duties will focus on maintaining the facility and equipment:

  • Building Maintenance & Repair: Perform general building maintenance, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct daily/weekly preventative maintenance and complete daily log sheets. Perform pre-operation checklists and verify all safety devices are functional at all times.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate floor sweeper / scrubber to maintain the facility floor.

    Battery Management (at applicable sites): Maintain and operate the battery changing station, including the removal and replacement of lift batteries.

    Safety & Compliance: Dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA and Wayfair safety policies and procedures. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    Administration: Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents. Perform other job-related duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor.

    What You'll Need (Minimum Requirements)

    Experience &

    Skills

    Strong mechanical aptitude and basic carpentry and maintenance experience, including plumbing and painting. Proficient using hand and power tools and computers to perform required duties.

    Equipment Knowledge: Experience safely using warehouse equipment such as aerial lifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Previous battery charger/changer experience is a plus.

    Physical Capability: Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach.

  • Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted. Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Work Environment

    Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment that can be noisy and unlit.

    Work Ethic: Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled & unscheduled overtime. Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take direction.

    Education

    High School Diploma or Equivalent is a plus.
