Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Define and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy spanning data centers and Microsoft 365 services
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams including data center engineers and M365 administrators
- Establish governance, policies, and standards across infrastructure and collaboration platforms
- Partner with business and IT leaders to align technology investments with organizational goals
- Drive roadmap planning for hybrid infrastructure, cloud adoption, and modern workplace initiatives
- Ensure 24/7 availability, reliability, and performance of data center and Microsoft 365 services
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes across platforms
- Manage SLAs, KPIs, and service health metrics for both infrastructure and M365 services
- Lead service continuity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
- Implement automation and operational efficiencies across environments
- Oversee servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms
- Manage lifecycle planning, capacity management, and hardware refresh initiatives
- Lead data center migrations, consolidations, and modernization efforts
- Ensure optimal performance of compute, storage, and network resources
- Evaluate and integrate emerging infrastructure technologies
- Own administration and optimization of Microsoft 365
- Ensure service availability, performance, and user experience for collaboration tools
- Oversee licensing, tenant configuration, and service adoption strategies
- Drive governance for data retention, information protection, and compliance within M365
- Manage relationships with data center providers, Microsoft, and other vendors
- Oversee physical infrastructure including power, cooling, and physical security
- Ensure vendor and SaaS provider performance meets SLAs and contractual obligations
- Manage procurement, contracts, and licensing agreements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Maintain physical and logical security across data center and M365 platforms
- Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation efforts
- Develop and manage budgets for data center operations and Microsoft 365 services
- Optimize costs across infrastructure, licensing, and cloud services
- Provide financial forecasting and ROI analysis for technology investments
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency
