Amazon WW R&R is comprised of business, product, operational, program, software engineering and data teams that manage the life of a returned or damaged product from a customer to the warehouse and on to its next best use.
We are seeking a visionary leader to own and scale Amazon's Recycling business across the US and Canada. This role will set the long-term strategy, hold a high bar for execution, and build a best-in-class external partner ecosystem, including vendor identification, onboarding, and ongoing management of critical strategic partners. The leader will own the end-to-end P&L for Amazon's recycle business, drive measurable waste reduction, and accelerate circular economy outcomes through innovative, scalable recycling solutions. responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Creating and executing strategies to grow, scale, and improve the efficiency of Amazon recycling and circularity initiatives.
Operational Optimization: Enhancing Amazon's current recycling processes to reduce waste and improve customer experience.
Executive level stakeholder management: Partner with leadership to develop long-range business strategies and annual operating plans for Amazon Recycle programs.
Data Analysis: Drive forecasting, scenario planning, and financial modeling in partnership with Finance, using business and consumer insights to guide portfolio performance. Using metrics and data to drive improvements in recycle recovery rates, and supply chain efficiency.
Leadership reporting: Create and manage business review materials, and deep-dive analyses to guide decisions and leadership alignment
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Legal, PR, Finance, Operations) to execute launch plans and performance improvement initiatives
Team Development: Develop and mentor junior team members and foster cross-functional alignment around Amazon's strategic B2B recommerce goals
A day in the life:
Focus on Reverse Logistics: You will lead and execute the strategy Amazon Recycling and Circularity initiatives.
Vendor & Relationship Management: You will manage relationships with external recyclers (3P/1P vendors) and negotiate contracts for reverse logistics services.
Financial Performance: Own the P&L for Amazon Recycle and responsible for optimizing the "recovery value" of recycled products and improving overall financial performance.
Sustainability & Circularity: This role obsesses over sustainability and circularity by relentlessly reducing waste and extending the life of products through innovative recycling strategies. The role partners closely with Amazon Sustainability and PR teams to amplify impact, influence customer perception, and deliver measurable environmental outcomes at scale.
