Job Description: To support the implementation of automated material handling equipment into our distribution centers. Typical equipment includes: conveyor, carton / tote sortation, unit picking, unit sortation, case shuttle storage systems. The automation engineering team supports our operations teams at our more automated distribution sites across multiple project phases: design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post go-live.
Responsibilities:

• Provides equipment layout and function expert advice to our design and operations teams.
• Calculates equipment rates and targeted performance.
• Supports equipment punchlisting and rate testing.
• Supports warehouse control / execution system software design and test.
• Supports and educates the operations team on how to use the new equipment.
• Performs data analysis of equipment rates and errors.
• Supports the operations team to implement equipment maintenance agreements.
• Develops productivity estimates for processes that interface with material handling equipment.

Key Skills:

• Prior experience implementing automated unit / case handling equipment.
• PLC equipment control.
• CAD for equipment layout.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Project management.
• Warehouse control systems (WCS).
• Warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Barcoding.
• Data analysis using excel, access, SQL, power BI.
• MOST / MTM labor modeling.
• Great organizational skills.
• Experience with new distribution center start-ups.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent work experience, required.
• 3+ years experience in Engineering, required.
• 1+ years experience in distribution, logistics, project management, required.
