The Data Science Specialist role builds predictive and prescriptive analytics that enhance pricing, forecasting, segmentation, and decision-making for the U.S. Commercial organization. Working under the guidance of the Manager, Data Science & Analytics, the role supports the full model lifecycleincluding data preparation, model creation, deployment, monitoring, and insight generation. The position also supports the integration of predictive insights into BI dashboards and automation workflows that drive measurable business impact.

Key Accountabilities: Modeling & Analytics

Build models for forecasting, pricing/elasticity, segmentation, propensity, optimization, and scenario planning under manager's guidance.

Perform feature engineering, model training, validation, backtesting, and documentation.

Data Preparation & Pipelines

Create and maintain Dataiku flows and Python pipelines using Snowflake/SQL data sources.

Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and version control (Git) across modeling workflows.

Deployment & Monitoring

Support deployment using Dataiku automation and Snowflake processes.

Monitor model performance (drift, accuracy, data quality) and assist with retraining and enhancements.

Insights & BI Integration

Translate model results into clear insights for Pricing, Sales, and Finance.

Collaborate with the Sales Support BI team to embed predictive outputs into dashboards and KPI structures.

Contribute to impact measurement through KPI trees, lift analyses, and ROI scorecards.

Governance

Follow governance, privacy, and Responsible AI standards within DHL Group guidelines; maintain complete documentation and model cards.

Skills/

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related field

• years of applied data science experience.

Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring models, with familiarity in MLFlow, CI/CD, or model monitoring tools.

Proficient in Python (pandas, scikit learn, TensorFlow), SQL, Snowflake, Dataiku, and Git, with experience in model validation, monitoring, drift detection, and MLOps.

Ability to communicate analytical methods and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences; solid understanding of forecasting, price elasticity, segmentation, optimization, and simulation techniques.

Familiarity with integrating predictive outputs into BI tools (Power BI/Tableau)

Strong documentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
