Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Training mode: Assigned to a specific team with direct supervision; will shadow / be mentored by Team Ldr II
  • Majority of the time spent using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions
  • Ensures appropriate coaching and training is received
  • Administers certification tests
  • Notifies appropriate leader of critical situations
  • Ensures compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance
  • Communicate (small scale) tactical plans and initiatives to effectively gain partner cooperation
  • Provides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing candidates
  • Identifies / develops team coordinators
  • Processes each work injury
  • Provides detailed shift summaries to other leaders
  • Implements plans; prepares / communicates plans to achieve team goals to leader(s)
  • Monitors / adjusts labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs
  • Regularly reviews / communicates results with team
  • Ensures compliance with work instructions, standards, and product specifications

Associate Team Leader Job Summary
Achieve superior self-manufacturing products through high quality, low-cost foods while continuing commitment to the growth, development, and training of our people and continually meeting our commitment to achieve superior service levels. As an Associate Team Leader for H-E-B, you'll participate in a structured 6-month program that prepares you to lead great people while ensuring our products and supply chain are the most efficient and effective in the business! The program includes a Dedicated Trainer, Professional Development Workshops, exposure to multiple areas of the business, and networking opportunities with Supply Chain Leaders. Upon completion of the program, you will have developed the essential knowledge and skills required to become a Team Leader in one of the following Supply Chain areas: Manufacturing, Warehouse, Transportation, or eCommerce Fulfillment.

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities
  • Training mode: Assigned to a specific team with direct supervision; will shadow / be mentored by Team Ldr II
  • Management: - Majority of the time spent using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions (e.g., product- / dept-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engage in resolving partner-related matters) - Ensures appropriate coaching and training is received - Administers certification tests - Notifies appropriate leader of critical situations - Ensures compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance - Communicate (small scale) tactical plans and initiatives to effectively gain partner cooperation - Provides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing candidates - Identifies / develops team coordinators - Processes each work injury - Provides detailed shift summaries to other leaders - Implements plans; prepares / communicates plans to achieve team goals to leader(s) - Monitors / adjusts labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs - Regularly reviews / communicates results with team - Ensures compliance with work instructions, standards, and product specifications

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or
- 1 year of related experience
- High Performance Work Team experience (preferred)
- Successful completion of company-sponsored training and development classes
- Participation in Leadership training and BET

- Working knowledge related to compliance requirements of industry, EEOC, and employment laws
- Verbal / written communication and presentation skills
- Analytical skills
- Influencing skills (people and process)
- Skills in operating internal / external software, systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks; attention to detail

Physical and Other Requirements
- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
- Work flexible and/or rotating schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ambient temperatures range from -20F to 100+F; most often they are 65-85F
