As an H-E-B Store Department Lead, you'll lead a well-stocked, well-maintained department, while providing superior customer service. You'll also perform supervisory responsibilities, such as scheduling work, and training / developing Partners. Key responsibilities include:
As an H-E-B Store Department Lead, you'll lead a well-stocked, well-maintained department, while providing superior customer service. You'll also perform supervisory responsibilities, such as scheduling work, and training / developing Partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Store lead operations / training
- Customer service / sales
- Food safety
- May serve as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager
- May help prepare department work schedules
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws
- Assists with inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product
- Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds / follows up on production plans and their execution
- Assists in all technical areas, as needed
- Performs Representative / Specialist duties frequently
- Provides / coaches on superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge and experience to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Merchandises products effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Complies with department / Store operating procedures
- Cleans / sanitizes sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment
- BAKERY: Ensures / oversees effective production planning and execution of supporting processes
- APPLY ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF CURRENT TRENDS IN BEAUTY FOR HAIR CARE, SKIN CARE, AND MAKEUP
- DELI: May oversee a specific area of the business: Service Case, Production, Cheese Shop or Catering
- PREPARED FOODS: Serves / packages products at customer's request
- PRODUCE: Lead (department) Performs lead responsibilities for the department and may serve as backup to Produce Manager
- TEXAS BACKYARD: Strong knowledge of nursery field
- Age Requirement: 18+
- Work Experience: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals)
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners
- Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
