Primary Duties
- Help protect H-E-B resources - people and physical assets - in stores and on other properties.
- Guard and protect property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry.
- Conduct periodic patrols of buildings and grounds.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
- Monitor access control points.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to partners, visitors, and customers.
- Process visitors and verify proper identification.
- Respond to/investigate alarms and disturbances.
- Maintain order and safety in the event of a life-threatening emergency.
- Perform administrative duties (guard post reports, daily activity reports, and associated documentation).
- Maintain safety awareness and report incidents/violations.
- Serve as a liaison with law enforcement on mutual issues/problems/situations.
- Deploy proactive security questioning.

Security Guard
Help protect H-E-B resources - people and physical assets - in stores and on other properties. Guard and protect property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry, and maintain physical security for all assigned locations.
Conducts periodic patrols of buildings and grounds; examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured; takes appropriate action as needed. Monitors access control points. Provides professional and courteous assistance to partners, visitors, and customers. Processes visitors and verifies proper identification. Responds to/investigates alarms and disturbances; maintains order and safety in the event of a life-threatening emergency. Performs administrative duties (guard post reports, daily activity reports, and associated documentation). Maintains safety awareness and reports incidents/violations. May serve as a liaison with law enforcement on mutual issues/problems/situations. Deploys proactive security questioning.
Entry support individual contributor position performing administrative or specialized tasks in support of daily business activities. Works under direct supervision on routine tasks and follows standard procedures with very little independent judgment. High school, vocational, or associate's degree. 0+ years of experience generally expected.
A high school diploma or equivalent 0 years of experience; previous experience in law enforcement or the military is a plus. A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements. Verbal/written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and apply appropriate judgment. Ability to properly handle, maintain, and demonstrate proficiency with firearms. Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and maintain optimism in high-stress environments. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality/discretion and pass annual background checks/random drug screens.
Successfully complete yearly physical capacity/agility screening; maintain appropriate physical standards including agility, physical strength, and stamina to respond to emergency situations; restrain and apprehend suspects; lift, push, or pull individuals or objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Maintain high personal hygiene standards and a neat and professional appearance including clean and pressed uniforms. Meet specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to discern colors, and work in a night setting (mandatory). Accurately key information into data system. Sit for extended periods. Function in a fast-paced, retail, and non-retail environment. Work weekends, holidays, and perform shift work (mandatory).
