During my ten-year tenure with the company, I have consistently observed strong leadership within the hourly departments. However, I have significant concerns regarding compensation levels, which have consistently resulted in difficulty attracting and retaining qualified personnel. Upper management’s limited understanding of daily operational challenges, coupled with a lack of recognition for the substantial effort demonstrated by store teams – such as extended workdays during severe weather to ensure critical inventory is delivered – warrants attention. A greater connection to the operational realities of the store would be beneficial.
