Primary Duties
- Act as the General Manager for key Retail categories with end-to-end responsibility of category performance including: selection productivity, profitability, affordability and availability.
- Own category strategy from first principles defining assortment architecture, SKU productivity targets, pricing tiers, vendor mix, and promotional approach to maximize growth and margin.
- Transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes.
- Assess the operational and financial impacts of decisions, and iterate based on data.
- Lead a team of two assortment specialists and partner with a cross-functional team.

Associate Manager, DashMart - Category Strategy & Operations
DoorDash's New Verticals organization focuses on accelerating one of our strategic pillars DashMart, our grocery and convenience delivery offering. We're building and scaling new ways to delight our customers, leveraging the DoorDash platform. The DashMart Category Management team owns the selection strategy for DashMart and is responsible for offering customers a best-in-class assortment at the right price.
About the Role
As an Associate Manager on our DashMart Strategy & Operations team, within the category management pod, you will act as the general manager and own the end-to-end strategy and performance of key retail categories across the US. In this role, you will lead assortment decisions, vendor partnerships, pricing strategy and category analytics to accelerate growth and profitability. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Pricing and Product to bring category strategies to life and continuously optimize performance.
You will report into the Manager, Category Management within our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team.

- You have 4-6+ years of professional experience. You've succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, manufacturing, automation, engineering, etc).
- Bonus points if you have 2+ years of experience with ecom, physical retail, or startup environments. Experience in category management or retail buying is preferred.
- You have completed your BS/BA Degree.
