Cake Decorator
Average coworkers, intense pressure, and short working hours.
Performance was satisfactory. The team dynamic was collaborative, although opportunities for significant interaction were limited. Advancement to full-time positions is competitive and typically requires demonstrated cross-training capabilities. While the role involves a demanding workload, support is available to manage expectations and prioritize tasks.

Curbside Personal Shopper
Accommodations significantly improve the work experience greatly.
During my nearly four years at HEB, I have primarily worked in curbside and have also contributed to the floral department for approximately two years. While my experience has been generally positive, I’ve found that proactively advocating for my needs and preferences is key to maximizing my satisfaction. For example, adjusting my work schedule to afternoons significantly improved my work-life balance. Similarly, seeking opportunities to expand my role within other departments allowed me to supplement my income. HEB offers a diverse range of departments catering to various preferences, and I’ve found a particularly rewarding role in floral. It’s important to recognize that companies may view employees as replaceable, however, the managers I’ve worked with have consistently demonstrated a commitment to reasonable treatment, including offering support when needed. I encourage employees to take ownership of their work experience and to utilize the available resources, including multiple levels of management and HR, to address any concerns.
