You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that field managers and senior leadership rely on for daily decision-making.
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who enjoys solving problems and writing SQL. If you're more comfortable in Python/R doing statistical modeling than writing joins and aggregations in SQL, this role may not be the best fit.
Core Responsibilities:
SQL Development & Data Management

- Build and maintain backend data pipelines and processes that feed operational dashboards.

- Refactor and improve existing queries for performance and maintainability.
- Conduct data wrangling and schema analysis to understand data structure and relationships.
Data Analysis & Subject Matter Expertise
- Deep dive into operational data to understand support workflows, become a subject matter expert, and identify data gaps or quality issues.
- Perform ad hoc SQL-based analyses to investigate performance anomalies and operational blockers.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into technical data requirements.
Visualization & Reporting
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards that provide frontend access to your SQL-generated datasets.
What the Candidate Will Do:
Strong SQL proficiency:
- You should be comfortable writing complex queries including:
- Multi-table joins (inner, left, right, full outer)
- Subqueries and CTEs (Common Table Expressions)
- Logic-based (CASE WHEN) and conditional statements
- Window functions
- Date/time manipulation
Data manipulation tools: Advanced Excel or Google Sheets for analysis and validation.
Data literacy: Understanding of data types, schema design, and data quality concepts.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 2 years experience in analytics.
- Strong analytics, SQL, and web query skills.
- Experience within Python or R and visualization tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Stakeholder management and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Self-directed work style with strong attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Experience with PrestoSQL, Spark SQL, or similar SQL variants.
- Data visualization experience (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Previous experience building data pipelines and processes.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
- Experience working with large datasets and performance optimization.
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD$34.50 per hour.
