Primary Duties

  • You will be in the team that owns the growth and P&L of the US and Canada gifting team.
  • Perform analysis and experiments to find growth opportunities for the Financial Products at Uber and taking these insights into larger executable programs.
  • Be the main POC on the gifting team for 3rd parties that specialize in managing the gifting payment flow to drive efficient operations and strategic growth.
  • Be the main POC for internal stakeholders who are developing gifting capabilities in house to ensure Operations, Product, Engineering, Data Science and Marketing are all operating in sync and efficiently.

US&C Gifting Strategy Lead

The Global Commerce team is seeking a strategic, growth-oriented leader to own and scale Uber's Gifting program across the United States and Canada (US&C). This role will drive the end-to-end strategy, performance, and expansion of gifting across stored value (Gift Cards), physical items (Marketplace), and subscriptions (Uber One).

This individual will be accountable for the US&C Gifting P&L and day-to-day operations, while developing and executing a long-term strategy to accelerate growth across channels, partners, and customer segments. The ideal candidate can balance strategic vision with operational rigor—translating insights from daily performance, customer behavior, and market dynamics into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes.

The role will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and external partners to evaluate and forecast business cases for new initiatives, manage third-party relationships, and deliver new capabilities that unlock incremental growth. Success in this role requires the ability to "see the forest and the trees"—aligning executional details with a cohesive, data-driven strategy that scales the Gifting program in US&C.

What You'll Do

  • Experiment: Perform analysis and experiments to find growth opportunities for the Financial Products at Uber and taking these insights into larger executable programs.
  • Own relationships with 3rd parties: Be the main POC on the gifting team for 3rd parties that specialize in managing the gifting payment flow to drive efficient operations and strategic growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Be the main POC for internal stakeholders who are developing gifting capabilities in house to ensure Operations, Product, Engineering, Data Science and Marketing are all operating in sync and efficiently.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 6+ years' experience working in at least one of these industries/areas: retail, gift cards, payments, fintech, strategy, operations, business development, banking, digital retailer or consulting (with a focus on commercial operations and/or marketing)
  • Strong proficiency with Excel / GSheets

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA a Plus
  • SQL experience
  • Experience executing a strategic vision on a large scale that results in business growth
  • 8+ years' experience working in at least one of these industries/areas: Gift cards, payments, fintech, strategy, operations, business development or consulting (with a focus on commercial operations and/or marketing)
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders, lead meetings, follow up to keep up the project's pace.
  • Program management: Candidate must be organized and efficient to handle multiple initiatives and pushing them to the finish line with collaboration from multiple stakeholders;
  • Strategic Execution: Formulating data driven insights around the gifting program and translating that into broader ideas that can be executed quickly and result in business growth outcomes.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$162,000 per year - USD$180,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$162,000 per year - USD$180,000 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year.
