Main
responsibilities: Position Summary
The Butcher Block Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Butcher Block and service meat counter, ensuring exceptional customer service, food safety compliance, product quality, and operational efficiency. This role leads associates in the preparation, merchandising, and sale of fresh meat and seafood products while supporting sales growth, inventory management, and department profitability. The Butcher Block Supervisor serves as a subject matter expert in meat cutting, product knowledge, and service counter operations.
Key Responsibilities
Department OperationsOversee daily Butcher Block operations, ensuring product availability, quality, and presentation standards are maintained.
Supervise the preparation, cutting, packaging, and merchandising of fresh meat products.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper replenishment of service case and sales floor displays.
- Maintain department organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
- Ensure adherence to company merchandising and service standards.
Customer ServiceDeliver outstanding customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
Educate customers on product offerings, preparation methods, and value-added services.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
Merchandising & Inventory ManagementEnsure attractive and effective product displays that drive sales.
Food Safety & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with all company policies, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health department requirements.
Promote workplace safety and adherence to department safety procedures.
Participate in department audits and corrective action activities as needed.
