Full Job Description
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a strong focus on fast, friendly service.
Assist customers by making product suggestions and engaging in suggestive selling through telephone, intercom announcements, and direct interaction.
Answer and respond to incoming calls professionally; resolve customer complaints and notify the Store Director when needed.
Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products to ensure freshness and quality.
Maintain clean, well-organized shelves and department areas.
Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
Ensure products are accurately priced, labeled, and properly displayed.
Assist in other areas of the Grocery Department as needed to support overall department presentation.
Maintain and uphold department standards and operational requirements.
Apply working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
Ensure proper code dating is enforced for all department products.
Comply with grooming standards, dress code, and all company policies.
Control inventory to maintain proper quantity, quality, and freshness levels following division directives.
Stock, rotate, and maintain inventory both on the sales floor and in backroom areas.
Oversee reclamation processing and ensure orderly, in-stock conditions throughout the Dairy Department.
Assist with physical inventory conducted every six months.
Monitor and control shrink and departmental costs.
Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, and stocking/rotating product.
Follow product temperature guidelines, storage procedures, and proper packaging techniques.
Properly operate department equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and the Sterilox machine.
Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
Adhere to all workplace safety rules and sanitation requirements.
Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, equipment, and display cases.
Implement emergency procedures when equipment or computer software malfunctions occur.
Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor department logs, daily sheets, sales and labor reports, and required paperwork.
Maintain accurate administrative and departmental records.
Operate computer software and electronic ordering systems to replenish product and manage department needs.
