Meat CutterAs a Meat Cutter, you will be on the cutting edge with our beef, poultry, and other meat products, and you must be willing to carve out time to engage our customers in friendly conversations about our products. To be successful in this position, you need to be passionate about meats and the success of the department. Main

responsibilities: Trim, cut, wrap, tray, grind, weigh, and display fresh meat.

Build meat and seafood displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products.

Ensure product quality, trimming, grinding, packaging, labeling, rotation, and wrapping standards are met.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and display areas.

Follow department standards for handling quick-sale items and ensure proper code dating.

Assist with inventory control, stocking, and rotating products.

Operate and maintain meat cooler, freezer, and butcher block.

Use equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, knives, grinders, saws, and labeling machines.

Complete and monitor daily logs, production charts, and other required paperwork.

Comply with safety regulations and company policies.

    Product variety, perishability, and handling standards

    Sanitation, labeling, and department policies

    Abilities:

    Lift and maneuver up to 80 lbs

    Stand for long periods; bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive arm movements

    Operate meat department equipment and computer systems

    Educational

    requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Travel

    requirements: Occasional travel may be required

    Other

    requirements: Compliance with grooming and dress code standards

    Exposure to refrigerated environments (around 35F) and freezers (as low as -20F)
