The General Manager Sales Operations will lead a multifunctional team to successfully deliver financial targets through achieving our topline revenue and Gross Profit objectives, combined with the efficient oversight, planning, and managing of our labor and expenses. This role must achieve these targets while at the same time building a strong organization to provide bench strength across the sales and distribution organization. Succession planning is going to be critical to building a culture that is rooted in our Purpose Statement, Our Destination Statement, And Diversity Objectives that will enable us to continue to deliver strong results. The Sr. Director of Retail Sales works directly with the MUGM/VP to deliver business results, key customers to enhance selling and execution, cross-functional partners to drive efficiency and solve problems and with our people to inspire and motivate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Interprets business data and results, develops execution strategy and provides direction to the Sales Operations Organization to achieve business plan targets and metrics
- Oversees the achievement of executional and operational targets and metrics by leading consistent and effective management routines
- Collaborates cross-functionally with other departments to achieve the company's business objectives and targets
- Drives efficiencies and excellence throughout the operations that maximize safety and positively impact operating expense, optimize our operations, and service our customers
Directs, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching and training; implementing continuous improvement methods and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership opportunities
Industry experience is preferred, commensurate accountability and duties in other industries (likely to be CPG or Retail)
A college degree (associate's or bachelors) is preferred though not mandatory
5-7 Years of working in and leading a sales organization and/or a DSD delivery organization
Versed in complex commercial selling strategies
Excellent communication and organization skills
High sense of accountability and ownership
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
5-7 years relevant experience
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
A college education is preferred for this role, though not required
A degree preference is not specific as it is the body of learning and related discipline that is preferred to make a better GM
