3.3 out of 5

Across all Lowe’s employee reviews, a recurring theme is the significant variance in experience depending on the location and, critically, the leadership team.
While some locations, notably Quincy, IL (Cashier role) and Springfield, IL (Cashier role), showcase exceptionally positive experiences characterized by strong teamwork, supportive management, and a focus on employee well-being, others, particularly the Springfield, IL location, present serious concerns.
The overarching issue appears to be a lack of investment in employee development and a disconnect between employee expectations and the realities of the roles, especially regarding career advancement opportunities.
Several locations highlight a need for improved leadership communication, feedback, and recognition.
A common thread is the importance of a collaborative team environment, with locations like Quincy, IL, demonstrating the positive impact of strong teamwork and supportive management.
However, a consistent negative sentiment centers around limited career progression and poor leadership feedback, particularly in the Springfield, IL location, suggesting a systemic problem requiring immediate attention.
The diversity and inclusion rating, consistently low across multiple reviews, further underscores the need for broader organizational improvements.
Ultimately, the reviews reveal a fragmented experience, highlighting the critical role of local management in shaping employee satisfaction and retention.

Used to be good

The role of an MST associate primarily involves servicing bays, which includes documenting work with before-and-after photographs, interpreting planograms, scanning merchandise, maintaining organized bay displays, updating pricing labels, and completing associated documentation. Resetting bays is a significantly more involved process, often requiring several hours or days due to tasks such as replacing structural components (beams and racking), relocating merchandise between top-stock and home locations, and meticulously organizing and updating pricing. While I gained valuable experience through this role, much of my learning occurred independently. Over the course of two years, management support diminished considerably, characterized by a lack of proactive problem-solving and a failure to collaborate effectively. This resulted in persistent operational challenges. I do not recommend Store 2310.
