Full Job Description

About the Role
As the Head of Strategic Grocery Accounts, you will be responsible for the sales of our top grocery partnerships throughout the United States. Grocery & Retail is a primary growth bet for Uber, bringing on-demand delivery of almost anything to Uber Eats customers around the world - and this role is absolutely crucial to achieving that goal.

Who are we looking for?
Someone who has proven experience closing major accounts and cultivating C-Suite-level relationships, who isn't afraid to dig into the details and get their hands dirty.

This is a hybrid role based in our office spaces, with in-person collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We encourage our employees to work from our office on additional days if they desire to do so.

What You'll Do
We are looking for a "Player - Coach" to both:
  • Build New Partnerships with our highest impact merchants
  • Enable the team with sales tools, continuous improvement, and project management

What will make you successful:
  • Storytelling - Ability to craft a story that resonates with C-level executives and key decision makers
  • Data Driven - Self-sufficient in querying (SQL) and synthesizing large sets of data
  • Skilled at negotiation - Effectively sell the value of Uber's Grocery & Retail platform to ensure sustainable partnerships for both parties.
  • Strategic thought-leader - Someone who is talented at crafting deal proposals and knows their way around a P&L.
  • Expertise in docs, decks, and contracts - Imperative that this individual has experience creating proposal docs + decks that are ready for a C-Suite audience.
  • Make things happen (internally and externally) - Not everything goes to plan - this person needs to be able to rally the troops internally and externally to drive to results. This will be imperative.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of Sales, Business Development, Consulting, or Investment Banking experience
  • Analytical capabilities (SQL and modeling)
  • Strong executive presence
  • Exceptional communication skills - internally and externally, written and verbal. This person will be tasked with writing externally-facing documents, such as executive-level presentations, deal proposals, RFP responses, and term sheets.
  • Strong use of insights and data to help form overall strategy and drive decision-making. Understand both Uber and Retailer's P&L to come to the right decision when deal-making.
  • Self-starter demeanor with an ability to thrive in a fast-moving, constantly evolving team environment, and a passion for sales
  • Ability to clearly frame a value proposition and ask the right questions to be able to overcome objections to gain commitment from external and internal partners
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves, and get in the weeds with internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of a deal (e.g. tax, contractual language, etc), alongside a deep understanding of how our product works.
  • Track record working with cross-functional partners (e.g. Legal, Engineering, Product, Tax, Marketing) to help internally advocate for merchants' needs.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce)
  • Experience in On-Demand Delivery or Retail
