Senior Manager, Business Development, Ads
Uber is building a scaled advertising platform that unlocks value for merchants, brands, and consumers across our ecosystem. The Ads Business Development team will play a central role in shaping the partnerships that power this growth.
We are seeking a senior leader to help shape our Ads Business Development function. This individual will define the strategic roadmap for Ads partnerships, lead complex commercial negotiations, and build an ecosystem of partners that accelerates monetization across multiple business units and ad surfaces. This is a high-impact role requiring a strategic mindset, strong commercial judgment, executive presence, and the ability to operate across product, sales, finance, legal, and operations at scale.
This leader will help shape the long-term Ads partnership strategy.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$209,000 per year - USD$232,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$209,000 per year - USD$232,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define the multi-year Ads Business Development strategy, aligned to Uber's Ads monetization roadmap and revenue objectives.
- Identify structural partnership opportunities across commerce media, brand, ad tech, measurement, data and platform integrations (including across the merchant tech ecosystem).
- Translate Ads product priorities into an external partnership roadmap that drives durable competitive advantage.
- Lead complex, high-impact partnership negotiations from strategy and business case development through contract execution and launch.
- Structure innovative commercial constructs across partnership economics, revenue share constructs, data collaboration, integrations, and joint go-to-market initiatives.
- Balance speed with rigor, ensuring deals meet financial, legal, and operational standards.
- Own pipeline development and revenue contribution from strategic Ads partnerships.
- Establish performance frameworks to track partnership ROI, incrementality, and long-term value creation.
- Continuously refine partnership portfolio based on measurable outcomes.
- Engage directly with C-level and senior executives at partner organizations.
- Represent Uber Ads externally as a strategic platform partner.
- Influence internal executive stakeholders to secure alignment and drive cross-functional execution.
- Partner closely with Ads Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Legal, Policy, and Engineering to operationalize partnerships.
- Ensure technical integrations are scoped appropriately and executed effectively.
- Serve as a connective layer between commercial strategy and product execution.
- Set clear goals, operating rhythms, and performance expectations.
- Coach team members on commercial structuring, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the digital advertising, retail media, and ad tech landscape.
- Proactively assess competitive dynamics and emerging trends.
- Inform internal product and monetization strategy based on market insights.
- 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting.
- 5+ years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with revenue accountability.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 12+ years of experience in business development or strategic roles within advertising, ad tech, retail media, or marketplace platforms.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling a partnerships function.
- Proven track record of leading large, multi-year commercial agreements with measurable revenue impact.
- Deep understanding of digital advertising technology landscape (e.g., players & categories) and economics, (e.g., auction dynamics, measurement frameworks, attribution, and retail media models).
- Strong financial acumen with ability to build complex business cases and evaluate partnership P&L impact.
- Experience navigating technical integrations and collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, setting vision while ensuring execution discipline.
- Experience influencing senior executives internally and externally.
- Track record of building high-performing teams and developing senior talent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
- High integrity, accountability, and sound judgment.
- Makes decisions with long-term business impact across multiple functions.
- Operates independently in ambiguous environments and creates clarity for others.
