Product Counsel, Core Technologies
We are looking for an exceptional product lawyer, who specializes in advising fast-moving product teams, to join the Core Technologies legal team. The Core Technologies team has a front-row seat for new technology adoption at Uber, including the rapid expansion of AI.
We are integral to supporting a number of domains, including Uber's new AI Solutions business; a platform that re-imagines the benefits of Uber's data labeling, data collection, web and app testing, and localization capabilities for business customers. The role requires an ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional stakeholders and provide strategic, actionable legal advice to support successful product launches.
What you'll do
Support our sales and business development organizations, handling the review, drafting, and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, commercial sales, strategic relationships, promotional, and data privacy agreements.
Partner with the product team and other business stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the goals, products, operations, and customers of the teams we support.
From time to time, closely advise product managers, engineers, and product and content designers throughout the product lifecycle.
Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Product Legal team and other legal teams, such as Employment, Privacy, Marketing, Payments, Safety, and Tax, to provide comprehensive advice, and solve legal problems quickly for the teams you support.
Closely advise product managers, engineers, and product and content designers throughout the product lifecycle; lead and manage legal reviews of proposed product changes and global product launches; coordinate with the broader Uber legal team (including subject matter specialists and regional colleagues) to identify and assess legal risks; and develop practical solutions and risk mitigations that support business objectives.
Coordinate with the rest of the Core Technologies legal team as needed to support our wider business objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house, including experience advising on Product.
J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Preferred Qualifications
Bring an ownership mindset and be a self-starter for the projects you manage.
Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
Curiosity, along with the ability to spot issues, get to the heart of a matter, and articulate plans to address them.
Passionate about your work and a desire to have a big impact.
Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
Enthusiastic about Uber!
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year
