CDL A Delivery Driver
US Foods is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented CDL A Delivery Drivers to join our transportation team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive food products, supplies, and equipment accurately and on time while serving as one of the key faces of the US Foods brand. This position offers local routes, allowing drivers to be home every night, along with opportunities for career growth, competitive compensation, and industry-leading benefits.

Drivers are responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, delivering products to customer locations, unloading merchandise using hand trucks, verifying deliveries, collecting payments when required, and providing exceptional customer service. The role requires frequent stops, heavy lifting of up to 80 pounds, and the ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Schedule: Monday through Friday with early morning start times between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM.

What you bring to the table:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT (Department of Transportation) qualified.
  • Minimum six months commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience required.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25.65 and $41.00.

As applicable, this role will also receive component pay. Each new driver will go onto the component pay program after a minimum two-week training period. This training period may be extended at the discretion of Transportation Management. During the training period the driver will be paid an hourly rate of $25.65 plus time and one half for all hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek. When the new driver can deliver on his/her own he/she will be removed from training pay and paid based on plan components.
