Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Lift 80+ lbs on a consistent basis
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
- Use a hand truck to deliver to the customer location including going up and down stairs with the product as necessary
- Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
- Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product
- Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.)
- Deliver the product to each of the designated stops using the stop sequence provided for the day
- Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer
- Check the invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any
- Collect payments if necessary
- Monitor refrigeration system on van consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel
- Other duties as assigned

The Non CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900. The position will be assigned stops to deliver foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience preferred, but not required. Must meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT). All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

As a US FOODS PRONTO DRIVER you will be critical to the US FOODS team and one of the important faces of our organization. As a Pronto Driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites. What you bring to the table
Education/Training:
- High School Education or GED preferred
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
- No more than 2 convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past 3 years, no driver's license suspensions in the past 3 years.
- No commercial or professional driving experience is required.
- One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months of local delivery experience and/or food service industry experience preferred.
- Hand cart delivery experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Must pass pre-employment testing
- Have knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.
- Use safe lifting and loading techniques
- Great interpersonal/customer service skills
- Availability to work on weekends and Holidays
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $30 per hour. This role may also receive overtime compensation.
