The Environment Health and Safety Manager enables consistent execution of EHS risk reduction efforts across multiple operations (assigned SC markets and Specialty locations). Deploys center-developed EHS tools and methodologies to the field, and aligns local leadership to annual EHS tactics that support overall EHS strategy. Builds local-level EHS capabilities that result in high quality EHS risk management (from risk assessment through to risk control). Provides proactive technical and regulatory EHS guidance and responds to issues on an as-needed basis. Delivers EHS program audits and facilitates site-based EHS program self-assessments. Supports company-wide EHS initiatives as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities
Builds alignment among assigned locations to consistently implement center-developed EHS initiatives against established timelines. Explains intent and desired outcomes of EHS initiatives to site stakeholders to improve understanding, gain acceptance, and build momentum.
- Provides ready, high quality, and proactive EHS support to assigned Markets and Specialties locations. Regularly follows up with and coaches sites to ensure necessary follow-through.
- Assists sites with EHS troubleshooting, clarifies EHS regulatory requirements, and answers technical EHS questions to minimize EHS exposures.
Drives local level EHS execution to reduce EHS risk exposures, drive EHS cultural engagement, and achieve regulatory compliance. Regularly monitors and reports annual EHS plan execution for assigned sites. Consults with site leaders on plan execution improvement opportunities.
Builds local EHS capability building so that sites can assess and control EHS risks in line with center-developed tools and methodologies. Coaches and educates resources in classroom and "on the floor" settings to ensure high quality risk management and EHS routines. Audits / facilitates EHS self-assessments per center guidance.
Models high ethical standards and employee advocacy reinforcing the "We Care" mindset.

Related Experience/
Requirements
Minimum of five seven (5-7) years of experience in the manufacturing, foodservice, and / or distribution industries, supporting Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Transportation Safety, and / or Environmental Management. Multi-site responsibility and experience with union environments desirable.
Has good written and oral communication skills with a strong ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and facilitate among a diverse group of individuals. Possesses effective organizational, project management, and analytical skills and can facilitate sound decision-making.
